Clara Mayman

Clara Mayman lived a life shaped by love, resilience, and an extraordinary ability to connect with others. Born in 1926 in what is now Ukraine, her journey took her from Mexico to Chicago and ultimately to Southern California, where she built a full and vibrant life with her husband, Sid, and their family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, as well as a creative spirit who expressed herself through art, from mosaics to painting. Clara found joy in simple pleasures—tennis, friendships, long conversations with family—and she brought warmth and energy into every space she entered. After the loss of her husband, Clara continued to grow, creating art and forming deep connections well into her later years at Meadowbrook Senior Living, where she became beloved by residents and staff alike. Even as her physical strength declined, the care and love surrounding her reflected the same generosity she had given throughout her life. Clara’s purpose was clear: to share kindness, warmth, and an enduring love for people. She touched countless lives and left a lasting impression on all who knew her. This collection of photographs celebrates those moments—her spirit, her relationships, and the life she so fully lived.
